ONEIDA - City zoning restrictions have halted a local couple's Internet home business. Mary Ann Reed and Brad Pawlikowski began NetDzyne, a website design and hosting business, in July to be able to spend more time with their family at their i of Seneca Street home. Since halting their business, Pawlikowski said they have lost money and at least four business opportunities. Director of Planning and Development Cassie Rose said that the online business was an issue because there are lots of different online businesses and each one needs to be defined, to make sure that the zoning codes are enforced. The City of Oneida is basically telling this couple that they can't have their business because there is no law about online businesses and businesses that are zero impact on residential areas. Therefore, the couple should be able to keep their business until the City of Oneida comes back to the 21st Century. read more
