Thrifty will process about 91,000 red and 13,700 multicolored roses during the holiday week, making 3,000 deliveries throughout metro Detroit between Monday and Thursday. Typically employing 24 drivers year-round, the company will hire temporary drivers to boost the number closer to 100 for the Valentine's Day holiday. The online retailer was founded 10 years ago, shipping 500 bouquets of red roses on its first day of business in 1998, spokeswoman Karen Behrman said.
