A new bookshop is set to sprout on South Ninth Street, which has been bereft of booksellers since three prominent proprietors left the street during the past two years. Gilliss said she hopes Get Lost - which will buy, sell and trade - will develop into a cozy place where people can browse a wide selection of used books. In March 2007, Ninth Street Bookstore, which was owned by Jefferson City-based Cowley Distributing, left its leasehold at 111 S. Louis this week released the first volumes of its new Burgundy Book series, compilations of summary economic data modeled on the Federal Reserve Board's Beige Book. Louis region, which includes Columbia, consists of 71 counties in eastern Missouri and 45 counties in southern Illinois. That decrease in the Housing Price Index - a measure of the movement of single-family home prices - led Fannie Mae to designate Columbia a "declining market," which means a 5 percentage point larger down payment for loans. read more
